When do we meet at Crystal Park Baptist Church Benoni?
Sunday Morning Services
Crystal Park Baptist Church Benoni’s Sunday morning services are 8:30-9:45 am and 10:30-11:45 am. [for the time being, in response to Coronavirus, between services, we WILL NOT serve tea and coffee].
Visitor parking is available on the church property. More parking is available on the curbs.
Look for enlarged designated parking closest to entryways. Our halls have ramps, enlarged doors, and appropriate thresholds. Designated chairs closest to exits are for the mobility impaired. Designated chairs in the first row are for the sight-impaired. Door greeters with visible identification are available to accommodate other special needs.
When you arrive a door greeter will be on hand to greet you [for the time being, in response to Coronavirus, door greeters are quipped with hand sanitizer]. The door greeter will give you some information about the Sunday service. We are not going to call you up to the front or ask you to stand so do not fear. We would appreciate it if you filled in a visitor card.
What about our kids?
There is a quiet room for mothers with babies. The room has a video feed, a changing mat, and a toy box. Follow the signage from the main entrance or ask a door greeter. Many of our mothers sit in the service with their babies unless they become niggly. Designated chairs at the back of the church are for families with young children. [there is hand sanitizer in the mother’s room]
We run a Sunday school program for toddlers – 12-year-olds during the 10:30-11:45 am service. You can follow the signage from the main entrance or ask a door greeter and child in as a safety precaution. Read our child protection policy here. [We close Sunday school during school holidays]
What is our worship like?
Our service includes Bible reading, praying, giving, preaching, communion and baptisms and singing. We sing traditional and modern hymns as well as contemporary worship songs. We have a piano, drums, guitarists and a team of vocalists.
There is no dress code. In Winter some men may wear jeans, some chinos with button-up shirts or jerseys. In Summer some men may wear chinos, some shorts with button-up shirts or t-shirts. Some woman may wear skirts or dresses, some may wear slacks or jeans, all dress modestly. The preacher wears jeans or chinos and may wear a jacket if it is cold.
Our worship is joy-filled, our preaching Gospel-centered. We are a friendly, comfortable and diverse community. We use video, imagery and other creative expressions to communicate God’s Word.
We are about 100-120 people in each service on a Sunday morning. There is plenty of room for everybody. [for the time being, in response to Coronavirus, we have limited the seating capacity in both the 8:30am and 10:30am service to 100] We have people who attend from all four corners of Benoni and some folk from further afield.
